Evan asked: I only know the Indian squad including Dhoni and Sachin were expected to jump from the Auckland harbour before commencing the tour? And, Dhoni & Co have refused to oblige. What exactly is this strange ritual? What is its relation to cricket? And, why’d high profile players risk their lives in this way?
Edit: My God! no wonder the Indians refused to humour the Tourism Dept. How can a sane man put all his hope on a piece of rubber band?!. The 21st century is getting weirder and weirder.
Edit: Well, it looks almost harmless. Wonder why Dhoni refused to oblige!

Datuk asked: Peter McCain, Republican candidate for US presidential elections, called for global alliance of democracies that include Japan, India, Australia and New Zealand apart from Europe. He reckons this would ensure safety for the 21st century. Turkey is in in already. Malaysia has the opportunity to influence US’s foreign policies on palestine, Iraq and Afghanistan by joining this alliance and also increased prosperity by attracting investment and tourism.
How?
Clean Elections
Good Governance
Religious freedom
Respect for Human rights: No to ISA
Equal opportunities for all citizens
Do you think there is a way forward?
Do you think Malaysia would come out of NATO (No action; Talk only; not the other NATO North Atlantic treaty force)

Sbacon asked: I’m visiting New Zealand, South Island in February. I love sports, thrill rides etc. (ok, well not bungee jumping but pretty much anything else). I hear there’s more to do in New Zealand than one can imagine, so tell me about some fun or cool things you’d recommend.

shellsandscripts asked: I got such great answers with my Australia question, lets try with NZ!
I was brought up and live in a big US city and a little bored and tired of American attitude and ignorance. I have an advanced degree in technology, I am female in my late 20’s and know little to nothing about NZ, haven’t even met anyone from there. I’m also getting older and bit tired of my crowded big noisy city. I want to be in a diversere cultural city but close to natural spaces. Which is funny cause when I did search for those words NZ tourism page came up.
Care to fill me in? What should I be reading and where should I be visiting to get a better idea?

. asked: I take 6, although most of my friends take 4 or 5. I live in New Zealand. We have Brazilian and Italian exchange students at school and in their country they take more than 20!
What subjects do you take?
I take Biology, Geography, English, Tourism, Physical Education and Statistics.
Wow, you guys have really cool subjects offered. Tourism isn’t to bad, I do it by correspondence because it doesn’t fit on my time table.
That’s a bit sexist! Why are only boys made to do maths?
None of my subjects are compulsory. English was up until last year.

hippygurl89 asked: So, I originally posted a question asking which of three countries:Ireland, Australia and Spain would better suit me, but someone answered me asking if I had considered New Zealand as well… I am currently living in Virginia, U.S.A and have recently graduated from Virginia Tech University with a degree in Hospitality and tourism management and would like to manage a hotel or small restraunt in another country. I am wondering if people from New Zealand could let me know more about life in New Zealand and if a liberal American would be welcomed there. I am also wondering, if New Zealand has an affordable cost of living, because I’ve heard that in Europe it can become difficult to manage all of the expenses. Lastly, I would like to know if there are a lot of vegeterian options in New Zealand. Thanks for helping me out, in advance!

itsme asked: I’ve always wanted to go to New Zealand…I don’t know what it is that really intrigues me about this beautiful country!!! Anyway…I’ve finally made up my mind and saved enough money for this new “adventure” of mine.
I’m planning to go on a working holiday visa at least at first, to see how things go and if it’s actually possible to stay there…since this is pretty much my only shot I want to do this right, so I’ve been looking and searching for information and what I’d really want to know is which do you think would be the best city to live in??? (= not too expensive, not too hard to find a job, find a decent apartment)
I was thinking Queenstown but I heard is way too expensive, then Auckland but it’s also too expensive (this is what I read, I don’t actually know how much it really costs to live there)…so I really have no idea what to do!!! Don’t know anybody there!!!!
I have a ma in tourism and a ba in business and marketing and it would be great if I could end up in a place where it’s easy to find a job preferably in the tourism sector (front desk at a hotel would be perfect!)
So, if anyone has some suggestions…I’d really appreciate it!!!
Thanks in advance

Thank you all SOOO much for all your answers! I have a much better idea now on where to go but especially that there are so many beautiful places to see in NZ!!
Can’t wait to go and (at least) visit all of them!

Thanks!
Christian
